that it should surprise no one that more and more
restaurants are offering animal-free foods. In
fact, a National Restaurant Association poll found
that one in five diners looks for vegetarian meals
when eating out.

July: D.C.'s Newest All-Vegan Restaurant, Café Green!
Café Green
1513 17th St., N.W.
Washington, D.C.
202-234-0505
After months of anticipation, D.C.’s premier, full-service all-vegan restaurant is open for business—and it was well worth the wait!
Conveniently located near the Dupont Circle Metro station and open Tuesday through Sunday (with an extensive Sunday brunch menu), Café Green is the perfect place to treat yourself to a delicious animal-friendly meal. Whether you choose to sit upstairs in the dining area, downstairs in the bar/lounge or outside on the patio, you can enjoy several reworked Java Green favorites such as the Free Bird Che panini and the Mango Kale Deluxe, or indulge in a variety of delectable dinner entrées including Gnocchi Arrabiata, Raw California Pizza, or the “Steak” and “Cheese” sub! For brunch, try the Irish Breakfast with “Bangers & Rashers,” or the whole wheat pancakes filled with chocolate chips or your choice of fruit.
What’s more is that on the third Wednesday of every month, Café Green hosts a COK benefit event. Just tell them you’re there for Compassion Over Killing and a portion of your bill will be donated to our farmed animal advocacy efforts.
And the good news doesn’t stop there! As part of National Veggie Hot Dog Month, Café Green is offering vegan “half smokes” with Tofurky beer brats and veggie chili as special menu items for the entire month of July! So stop by today—and don’t forget to tell them VegDC.com sent you! |
