Did you know that nearly one in 5 Americans participate in Meatless Monday? This nationwide effort to promote kinder, climate-friendlier, and healthier foods is also gaining ground in schools, hospitals, workplaces, restaurant – and even entire cities or counties are joining the movement.

Case in point: Washington, DC and Montgomery County, MD officially endorse Meatless Monday and encourage residents to explore meat-free meals in our community. Here’s a list of some area restaurants offering specials every Monday:

Starting in February 2014, the first Tuesday of each month is a Compassion Over Killing benefit day. A portion of the day’s proceeds will be donated to support our work to protect animals!
